September 5, 2002Maurice Kembery, 90, dies
Maurice Kembery, 90, of Creston died Aug. 16, 2002, at Crest Haven Care Center.
Services were Monday, Aug. 19, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston. The Rev. John Maier officiated the service. Burial was in the Garner Cemetery, south of Bridgewater. Memorials may be directed to Holy Spirit Parish or American Diabetes Association.
The Coen-Beaty-Pearson Family Funeral Service had charge of arrangements.
Mr. Kembery, son of Estella Belle (Strawback) and William Edwin Kembery, was born Oct. 1, 1911, south of Bridgewater in Adair county. On May 25, 1940, he married Bertha Maeder in Winterset. He was a farmer and lived in Creston since 1990. He was a former Washington Township assessor in Adair County and member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Kembery of Creston; a daughter, Connie Maynes of Beachwood, N. J.; and a sister-in-law, Gladys Kembery of Corning.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Gertrude and Clarice Kembery; and twin brother, Harold Kembery.
