Dale Foster, 61, Sharpsburg farmer, died Sunday morning at
Rosary hospital in Corning. Funeral services were Wednesday
afternoon at the Presbyterian church in Sharpsburg with Rev Eldridge McGehee officiating. Burial was in Guss cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Cassie; 2 daughters, Mrs Janice Severn, California, Mrs Joanne Chitty, Washington, D C; 2 sons, Gene of Des Moines, Keith, of Kansas and 8 grandchildren.

Foster, Dale Leonard –
Dale Leonard Foster was born April 30, 1898 in Adair Co. Iowa, and passed away at Rosary hospital, Corning September 13, 1959 at the age of 61 years.

He was the son of John W Foster and Salina Ewing Foster. He attended school in Fontanelle, Iowa.

He commenced farming near Guss, Iowa in 1919 and on Sept 11, 1920 was united in marriage to Cassie L Else of Guss. To this union four children were born: Keith E Foster, Topeka, Kans., Gene W Foster, Ankeny, Mrs Haldean Severn, Atascadero, Calif., and Mrs. Paul E Chitty, Jr., Havre De Grace, Md.

The family made their home in Adams and Taylor counties and since 1933 have resided near Sharpsburg. As a young man Mr Foster joined the Methodist Church.

Mr Foster is survived by his wife, four children and nine grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters and one brother: Mrs Florence Sippel, Santa Monica, Calif., Mr J T Foster, Pacalma, Calif and Mrs George Fuller, Bremerton, Wash. Two sisters, Mrs Bessie Corbin and Mrs Laura Veatch preceded him in death.
