Delores M. Filkins, Glenwood

Delores Marie Filkins, 69, of Glenwood died of lung cancer Nov. 18, 2001 at Jenny Edmondson Hospital in Council Bluffs.

Memorial services were held Wednesday Nov. 21 at Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham with the Rev. Alberta Ervin and Monsignor Frank Bognanno officiating. Private burial of the cremains will take place at a later date.

Delores Filkins was born Oct. 10, 1932 to Henry Guy and Marie (Wiggins) Winter of rural Fontanelle. She attended country school in rural Adair county. She moved to the Council Bluffs/Glenwood area where she raised her children. Delores had worked in the restaurant business for many years as a waitress at both the Sundown Supper Club in Glenwood and the Oasis Restaurant. She later joined the Glenwood State Hospital School food service staff where she retired after 12 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by a daughter, Dairie Durant of Lincoln, Neb.; a son Donovan Filkins (wife DeAnn) of Earlham; three grandchildren and two gret-granddaughters.
