MRS. J. M. VOLK DIES IN MONTANA

Long-Time Resident of Adair County Succumbs at 70 Years of Age

Mrs. J. M. Volk, a native of Adair County, died at her home in Missoula, Mont., on March 25, it was reported here this week. She was 70 years old.

Mrs. Volk was the former Bertha Alice Wilson and was born in Adair county Oct. 19, 1873. In August, 1889, she was married to James Caskey. They were the parents of one daughter. Mr. Caskey died in 1891. In 1895 she was married to John M. Volk, who died in 1939. They were the parents of two daughters, and two sons, one of which died in infancy.

Mrs. Volk lived in Adair County until 1939, when she went to Montana to make her home with her daughters there.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. D. V. Denton of Greenfield, the Misses Maud and Nell Volk of Missoula; a son, John K. Volk of Tacoma, Wash.; and a sister, Mrs. Roy Wilson of Bison, S. Dak.

Funeral services were held March 28 in Missouri (Missoula) and on March 31 at the Hill of Zion church in Adair County, with burial made in the Zion cemetery.
