The Adair News, March 19, 1943:

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bell received two letters the fore part of this week from their son, Coryell, who is stationed in Northern Africa. His letters report that he arrived there the latter part of February after a very fine trip and that he is feeling fine. It was rumored that Coryell was among those missing in a recent ship sinking. The letters prove the rumor unfounded.
