On the 9th inst., a son of J. Nelson, of Adair County, accidentally fell into a well. His mother, seeing nothing but his hat on the surface of the water, supposed him to be drowned, and ran for assistance. An hour elapsed before it could be procured, when the little fellow was found holding on to a stone at the edge of the water. The well was 22 feet deep, with 11 feet of water.
