John W. and Sarah "Sadie" (Montgomery) Alloway were married in 1903. They lived on their farm in Prussia Township from 1905 until John's death in 1954.
They were the parents of five children. Kenneth died in infancy. Marion was married to Naomi Raper and they were parents of three children: Ronald who died at the age of four; Marilyn Stienberg of New Park, California; and Ann Holck of Spencer, Iowa. Merle was married to Helen Shike and they had no children. Margrie was married to Lawrence Ford and they were the parents of three children: Judy Edwards of Boone, Iowa; Nancy Erickson of Massena, Iowa; and Roger Ford of Massena, Iowa. Athel was married to Joseph Cavanaugh of Omaha, Nebraska, and they were the parents of Joseph Cavanaugh II of Omaha, Larry Cavanaugh of Omaha, and Julie Stolz of Omaha and Kathy Sturm of Omaha.
After John's death and Sadie left the farm, it was sold to Elvin and Shirley Tannatt.
