Cecil I. and Esther (Herrick) Parlee

Cecil I. and Esther (Herrick) Parlee were married by Reverend George T. Herrick August 1, 1920.

Cecil was born in Cass County, Iowa, to William and Lou (Ballentine) Parlee on January 11, 1898, and passed away on January 28, 1972.

Esther was born in Bridgewater, Iowa to George T. and Ella (McCullough) Herrick January 15, 1897, and passed away on October 22, 1985.

Cecil and Esther had three children. William born September 16, 1921 and died May 8, 1978. Robert was born July 1, 1923 and died March 14, 1987. Mary (Roberts) was born January 5, 1934.

Cecil and Ester took normal training in high school, both taught school until their marriage. Cecil farmed until moving into Greenfield in 1945. He then did soil survey work for Guthrie County until he was hired as deputy assessor to Kenneth Kirlin. He retired and still worked part-time for Kenny until his health failed.

He built three houses in Greenfield in is spare time. The first one built is at 304 Southwest Mills. The second is at 204 Southwest Jackson. The third is located at 207 Southeast Jackson.
