Walker, Henry G., lawyer; b. Fontanelle, Iowa, Oct 7, 1878; s/o Philip & Belle (Grass); ed. at University of Iowa, L.A., 1904, law, 1906; president junior class, Phi Delta Phi, general manager athletics, 1904-1905; short story prize, Pickard prize for extemporaneous debate, represented the university in Northern Oratorical league contest at Ann Arbor, 1905, and Hamilton club contest at Chicago, 1905; and at Wisconsin-Iowa debate, 1904; initiated by Iowa Beta, Feb. 11, 1905 (charter member); delegate of petitioning chapter to S.A.E. Nat'l convention at Memphis, 1904, where charter was granted, referee in bankruptcy, 1906; city solicitor of Iowa City, 1907-1911, lecturer in law at University of Iowa, 1909-1910, member Iowa Bar association, member American Bar association, curator State Historical Society of Iowa, captain of Co I, 54th Infantry I.N.G., 1909-1910; postmaster at Iowa City; m.
