Born 2/28/1844 Conneautville PA

Died 6/30/1921 in Waterloo.

Buried at Fairview Cemetery , 611 Fairview Ave. ( no marker) Sexton has her card as Mary E. but it is incorrect. Same plot as Jessie O. and Cora A.  and Jessie Otto Jr. and James E and Nina H Burgess.

Parents were Arza and Love D. Dibble.

Jesse O. Burgess

Born 12/3/1835  Stewartstown, Monongoila County, VA

Died:1/15/1915 Waterloo Iowa

Buried in Fairview Cemetery.

Parents were Edward and Catherine Burgess

 

Children were:

Reuben Arza born in PA

Lura C. Burgess born in Iowa

Cora A. Burgess born in Iowa  (1870) is buried in Fairview Cemtery next to Jessie O. died as infant)

Jessie Otto Burgess Jr.  also buried at Fairview ( no marker)  1872-1927

James Ezra Burgess buried at Fairview also 1876-1921

Charles Reverdy Burgess 1880-1953 died in Eau Claire Wisconsin ( my grandfather)

 

Came to Iowa between 1851 and 1860.  Families are in Iowa for 1860 Census. 

Additional Information: "I wanted to let you know that in the cemetery listings you can add Mary Louise ( Dibble) Burgess she is buried next to Jesse O....they have her in the sexton record as a Mary S, but that is incorrect.  she was born 2/28/1844 in PA and died there in Waterloo on 6/30/1921.  The story is that her sons came into to town to bury her and James Ezra Burgess, her one son died of a heart attack that night in bed and so they had a double funeral.( There are newspaper articles to confirm this)   He is also buried in that cemetery along with his wife Nina H. (Lyons) Burgess.  ( I think in the same area. ) Another unmarked grave is Jesse and Mary's son Jesse Otto Burgess ( he went by Otto) he was born there in 10/2/1872 and he died at his home on a farm on the outskirts of town on 2/11/1927.  I have had a man talk with the sexton and this has all been verified." email from Sandy, dated 8 Sep 2008.
