Gustavus lived in Oakland, Alameda, California for 3 years before his death. He lived with J.P. O'connor at 580 Apgar Street in Oakland. His body was taken to Gilbertville, Iowa for burial. He was 82 yrs 10 mos and 25 days old when he died, according to his death certificate it gives his birthday as January 1, 1859.

Mabel was a Nun. The following information was taken from her funeral bulletin and a newspaper clipping about her death. 
Sister Mary Francis Clare Golinveaux, BVM - 1814

Sister Mary Francis Clare was born on March 30, 1889 in Rock Valley, Iowa and died at Marion Hall, February 6, 1978. She entered Mount Carmel on May 24, 1915 from St Joseph Parish, Waterloo. She made her first profession of vows October 4, 1917 and her perpetual vows on August 15, 1920.

She served in the ministry of education on both the elementary and secondary levels. Her missions included in the Chigago area: St Dorothy, St Plus, Sacred Heart, St Ferdinand and St Callistus. In Iowa she was missioned at St Ellen, St Mary High School, Emmetsburg: ST Joseph Academy, St Raphael and Wahlert High School, Dubuque: Corpus Christi, Fort Dodge: Holy Name, Marchus: Heelan, Sioux City: Sacred Heart, Boone: Rapid City, South Dakota: Hempstead, New York.

In 1969 she came to the Motherhouse to work in the sewing department and in June 1974, she moved to Marion Hall.

Rejoice that Sister Mary Francis Clar has merited the reward of Heaven for her goodness.

Sister M. Francis Clare Colinveaux BVM. Services for Sister M Francis Clare Golinveaux, BVM, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Marion Hall Infirmary Chapel. Friends may call from 1 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Marion Hall. Sister M Francis Clare died at 9:55 a.m. Monday at Marion Infirnary. She was born in Rock Valley, Iowa and entered the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary on May 24, 1915 from Waterloo, Iowa. She taught in grade schools in the community including Dubuque, retiring to the Motherhouse in 1969 and Marion Hall in June of 1974.

Surviving are a brother, Herbert Golinveaux of Antioch, CA, and a sister Genevieve O'Connor of Hayward, CA.

The Egelhof-Casper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MAIL GOES THROUGH FOR THE LAST TIME
Popular City Postman Ends Long Career

Berkely mailman Herbert A. Golinveaux went for a seven and a half milewalk today and then turned in his bag and badge. The postman's retirement ended 31 years of letter-carrying service here. For the last 20 years his route has been in the area bounded by The Alamada, Solano Ave, Ensenada Ave, and Thousand Oaks Blvd. There were hearty well-wishes, some tearful goodbyes, as Golinveaux's "customers" met him on his route. One woman ran down the front steps and handed him an envelope, "we're going to miss you" she said. Golinveaux a tall, bespectaled man apparently has a kind word for everyone he knows. "No, I never look at the addresses on the mail," he said in a response to a question, "I know just about everyone on the 343 stops I make on my route."

SHARES TROUBLES
"Many persons have lived here all the time I've been serving this area. Sometimes I've shared their troubles. During WWII, I had to bring mail announcing bad news. I've watched their families grow up. I even bring mail to the houses which the kids have established now. This has been a very worthwhile job. You're relaxed in the outdoors. You never have to worry about your appetite or going to sleep." In the 31 years Colinveaux has been delivering mail here, he was only bitten once by a dog. "And I was only trying to be friendly with the animal," he recalled. The mailman performed a number of extra chores as he delivered mail. He helped find missing children, locate lost clothing, notified persons water heaters suddenly popped, and assisted home nurses in getting patients back into bed. "You get a lot of gossip as a mailman," Golinveaux added, "but you keep your mouth shut." After his final round today, Golinveaux was an honored guest at a cake and coffee party his fellow workers hosted for him at the Post Office, Landscape Station, on Colusa Ave. near Solano Ave. The postman lives with his wife, Adrienne, at 1114 Talbot Ave. Albany. They are the parents of four boys and four girls. The postman and his wife plan an extensive auto trip and then on his return home, he will devote much time to his favorite hobby, fishing. Asked if he suffered flat feet in the 31 years he delivered mail, Golinveaux wise-cracked "no my arched are too high."

[I figured at one pair of shoes for 31 years, that would be 372 pairs of shoes!]

Margaret is buried in St Joseph's Cemetery, 2560 Church Lane, San Pablo, CA, Section E, Row 4, Plot 9, Grave 4.

Her social security number is 415-223-1265, and have copy of birth and death certificates. 
She had a very difficult pregnancy and there were many complications and she and the baby died in childbirth.

Adrienne was born in Lens, Pas-de-Calais, France. The Pas-de-Calais county is in the north eastern part of France near Belgium. They were occupied by the Germans during World War I and lost their home and took refuge in the south of France. Adrienne and her family came to America in 1919.
