AUNGER, Thomas, b. 11 Dec. 1834, bp. 4 Jan. 1836, St. Clether Parish, Cornwall, England.  d. 1 Aug 1902 in Cedar Falls, Black Hawk Co., Iowa.  He was in Cedar Falls by 1870.  In 1880, he was farming there.  The 1900 census shows their immigration year as 1858.  He died on the farm (blk. 6, lot 204) three miles west of Cedar Falls.  The cause of death was suicide.

Thomas married Frances SMALE in Durhamj Co., Ontario, Canada, on 14 Apr. 1858.  She was b. 8 Oct. 1834 in Darlington Twp., Upper Canada (Ontario), the daughter of Thomas and Loveday SMALE.

MATHES, George  b. 1860, d. 1948   He married Mary E. AUNGER, b. 1862, California, daughter of Thomas AUNGER (1834-1902) and Frances SMALE (1834-1907).  They are both buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls, Black Hawk County, Iowa, as are her parents.  His gravestone indicates he was a member of the Masonic Fraternity.
