Robert Ackerman Family

The following information on the Acreman - Ackerman family is being contributed by Nancie Dobyns.

The three sons of Robert A Acreman came to Black Hawk County in the mid 1850's.
George (1847 - 1934)- Robert A Jr (1857 - 1942) - John William.

There were also two more children that I discovered, but they did not settle in Iowa.
They were a daughter who married I W Dickerson and lived in SD, and Daniel who moved on to Australia.

My family line descends from Robert A Acreman - Ackermant - Ackerman Jr.

 Robert and wife, Martha

See image below for more family information.

I believe this farm to be around the Dewar area,
as it states in his obituary that he farmed for 33 years after coming from England to Iowa

I am unsure of which ones are who, but my great grandfather,
George is in the back row on the left, with Nellie next to him.

Robert and Martha are in the front with one of their daughters
(perhaps Gertrude) as she was younger - between them.

George Joseph Ackerman married Ida Tegtmeier, daughter of Henry Tegtmeier and Louisa Winning, on 2-27-1906 in Bennington Twp. Below is a family picture
