The above photo was published in the "The Register" in 1946, but the photograph was originally taken by teacher Clarke Widger roughly 50 years prior (exact date unknown, but circa the 1890's). Students pictured, front row, from the left: Ada Hitch, Frances Delaney, May Delaney, Alice Delaney, Lizzie Hitch, Freda Weaver, Mamie Johnson, Arnold Yager, Minnie Weaver, Willie Grady, Tom Johnson, Curtis Weaver, Ross Clifford, Ray Grady. Back row: Rose Johnson, Edna Yager, Charlotte Delaney, May Hitch, Mamie Grady, Maude Johnson, Sherman Weaver, Claude Phipps, Floyd Clifford, Bert Grady, Charley Hitch. The newspaper article indicates Katherine Delaney (one of the students in the photo) sent in the photo. Katherine was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Delaney, who came to Audubon county in 1879.
