AUDUBON COUNTY
WORLD WAR I HONOR ROLL

Source: Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, State Historical Society of Iowa

Iowa sustained more than 3,500 casualties in World War I. In 1920 Iowa's Department of History and Archives attempted to contact families of Iowa's WWI casualties to obtain biographical info and photos. Info was received on about 2,700 men and women who were killed in action, died of disease, wounds, or accident, or who went missing. Today the State Historical Society of Iowa's Research Center holds those records. SHS World War I Honor Roll Display
