Prairie school notes

Alphild Pladsen, Teacher

Our first six weeks period ended October 19, with 13 pupils enrolled. Their names and grades are: Marvin Moe and Hartley Rathbun, 8th; Donald Gruber, Pauline Henry, Vincent Mooney and Amy Olson, 7th; Marris Mathis, Karl Moe, Lloyd Olson and Robert Johnson, 5th; Arlyss Goettle and Iona Dee, 4th; and Vincent Mathis, 1st.

For the first month and first six weeks period the following had perfect attendance: Marvin Moe, Hartley Rathbun, Donald Gruber, Vincent Mooney, Amy Olson, Morris Mathis, Karl Moe, Lloyd Olson and Arlyss Goettel.

Pauline Henry did not enroll until the third week as she was a victim of scarlet fever and was under quartine.

We have added fifteen new books to our library this year.

The seventh grade history class have completed problems 1,2,3 and 4, while the eighth grade has completed problems 24, 25, 26 and 27. They think the tests are interesting. Marvin Moe had only two errors in his test over problem 27, which made the highest score obtained by any individual of either class.

The parents and pupils are very interested in the Iowa Dental Plan. We are happy to report that Morris Mathis, Vincent Mooney, Vincent Mathis and Arlyss Goettel have handed in their cards properly signed.

Donald Gruber is the president of our Rust Busters club. Arlyss Goettle and Vincent Mooney will receive medals for finding live bushes. Hartley Rathbun was rather unfortunate as he found a bush on the same farm as Arlyss.
