Lansing No.4 School Notes
Mary Plein, Teacher
Our fourth month of school has come and gone and we have
begun to realize that only half of the school year
remains.
We had a Christmas tree on Friday, December 23, after
which we exchanged gifts. Everyone received a gift and a
treat of candy and peanuts from the teachers.
Three of the pupils, Laura and Elmer Sadler and Earl
Gander, the latter two in the primary grade, were neither
absent nor tardy since the beginning of the term, and
received prizes. Ruth Sadler received a prize for having
the most perfect spelling lessons since the beginning of
the year.
We again voted to see whose booklet on "Our First
Christmas" was the best, and the result was a tie
between Ruth Sadler and Cletus Gander.
George Olson is a new beginner.
A sad accident befell one of our pupils last Sunday,
Floyd Noble, having been accidentally shot in the arm
while out hunting. We surely miss his presence in our
school, and hope it will not be long before he can be
with us again. All the pupils of the school join in
extending their sincere sympathy to Floyd in his sad
misfortune.
