I, Dennis D. Ronan, Born August 15th, about 1858,
hence now past seventy-one years of age, depending
upon whether the year of birth is correct or not, a
resident of French Creek Township, Allamakee County,
Iowa, of sound and disposing mind and memory, do
hereby make, publish and declare this to be my last
will and testament, hereby revoking any and all wills
by me at any time heretofore made.
I direct that all my just debts, including those of
my last sickness and funeral be first paid out of my
estate.
I have heretofore, namely on or about April 6th 1922,
advanced to my oldest son, Charles D. Ronan of
Rockford, Illinois, his full share in my estate, and
I hold a paper from him to that effect.
I have made my two daughters, Mrs. Anna Grace Quillin
and Mrs. Mary Irene Zoll equal beneficiaries in a
Benefit Certificate for $1648.00, or $824.00 to each,
in St. Mary's Catholic Order of Foresters, Lycurgus,
Iowa, said Court being No. 432 in said order, and
hence make no other or further provision for them in
this will.
To my daughter, Mrs. Gertrude E. Ryan, I bequeath the
sum of $825.00, same to be paid to her by executor
hereinafter named at the time of my wife's death,
should she survive me, or sooner if my said wife
feels the sum can be spared to be paid sooner.
To my son, James P. Ronan, who stays with me and
helped during years of financial need, I give, devise
and bequeath all the rest, remainder and residue of
my estate, real or personal, and I further nominate
him executor of this my last will and testament
without bond, having faith that he will do right by
his mother, my wife, and all concerned.
To my dear wife, Mrs. Mary Ronan, who has been a real
help-mate to me, I give, devise and bequeath the life
use of all my property, both real and personal, and
subject to said life use same is to be distributed as
hereintofore set forth.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand at
Waukon, Iowa this 3rd day of February, 1930, as and
for my last will and testament.
