In May 2005, my daughter and I visited Adair County and its cemeteries. We drove to every one except those that were on private property or otherwise inaccessible. I will be putting on photos for each and a small commentary. We visited right before Memorial Day which was a perfect time to see them in their prime. The peonies were in full bloom and gorgeous! In May 2006 we went back to this cemetery to do some research on the church. We snapped some more photos at this time. Hill of Zion Cemetery was one of the most beautiful of all the cemeteries in Adair County. It was well maintained, as were all of them, but the flowers were outstanding. The peony bushes were in full bloom, with many different colors. It was truly a peaceful place to visit. |
