Edwin “Brick” Frances Tindall was born on the family farm east of Graettinger, Iowa on June 1, 1925, to Milas and Elizabeth (Bosold) Tindall. Brick passed away on May 7, 2021, at his home in Graettinger at the age of 95.

He attended Jack Creek Township Hoprig School #8 prior to joining the family farming operation. After his marriage to Carroll Lammers on February 7, 1944, he moved onto the Lammers' farm and continued farming for 70 years before retiring at 90 years of age. The couple moved to town in 1997, but Brick‘s heart remained at the farm and could be seen on any given day, doing field work, mowing, gardening, fixing fence, eradicating thistles or watching over one of his many HUGE bonfires. After retiring he volunteered his time and his love of mowing to the Valley View Cemetery. Brick and Carroll spent 12 winters in Florida where they volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and in his spare time, Brick took up the art of stain glass and created many beautiful pieces. He and Carroll traveled numerous places around the country including multiple trips to Alaska and international to Canada and Germany. Brick enjoyed spending time with family and never hesitated to help a friend or neighbor in need. He thoroughly enjoyed all his years of daily coffee with the guys and all his special coffee serving gals, who always welcomed him with a hug.

Brick was a member at United Methodist Church in Graettinger for over 75 years. He served as an usher, friendship room host, was active in supporting many church activities and again enjoyed his hugs from his church family.

Brick is survived by his children Ed Tindall, Jr of Crescent, Iowa, Craig (Jeanne Paschang) Tindall of Omaha, Nebraska, Lynn (Tina) Tindall of Louisville, Colorado, and Denise (Pat Peters) Tindall of Graettinger; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Ivan (Mary) Lammers of Anchorage, Alaska, sister-in-law Lois Lammers of Graettinger and many nieces and nephews.

Brick is preceded in death by his wife Carroll in 2019; his parents and siblings Ralph, Raymond, John, Alice (Johnson), Margaret (Mahan), Mae (Torrence), Mabel (Jensen), Jim and Dorothy (Hankey).

A funeral service was held Monday, May 17, 2021 at the United Methodist Church in Graettinger with interment at Valley View Cemetery in Graettinger.
