Milton R. Walts, Lake Township Farmer, Dies [15 Jan 1942 - handwritten date]
Milton Rice Walts, 75, prominent Muscatine county farmer and lifelong resident of lake township, died shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday at Bellevue hospital, of complications. his home was on rural route 5, Muscatine.

He was born March 25, 1866, in Lake township, the sone of J.G. and Louisa Rice Walts, and married Mary Altekruse, March 15, 1899, in Muscatine county. Mr. Walts was a member of the knights of Pythias lodge.

Surviving are his widow, one sister, Mrs. Olive Addleman of Manchester, Ia., and two nephews, Milton E. and Levi W. Elchelberger of the High Prairie community. One brother, Elmore Walts, and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Kate Eichelberger and Ella R. Walts, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Hoffman funeral church, with the Rev. J.T. Perkins, pastor of the High Prairie methodist church, in charge. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. The K.P. lodge will conduct services at the funeral church.
