DEATH OF WILL CONARD

Word was received here Sunday of the death of Will Conard, a former resident of Gilbert, but for the past six years of Appomattox, Virginia.

Mr. Conard was in the hardware business here for some time. Hoping to improve his health by the change in climate he sold his business to Harry Thompson and went to Virginia, where he has remained since.

After a brief illness death came Saturday. He leaves to mourn his death a wife and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Thayer and Georgia Conard of Gencoe, Okla., besides many friends. Funeral services were held from the Congregational church yesterday morning at 11 o'clock and interment made in the Gilbert cemetery.

Obituary

James William Conard was born Dec. 6, 1870, in Franklin Township, Story Co., Iowa, and died Nov. 5th, 1911, at his home in Farmsville, Va.

He was the youngest of a family of six children of George and Rebecca Conard.

His boyhood days was spent on the farm. At an early age he confessed Christ and united with the Congregational church at Gilbert, where he was an active member of the Christian Endeavor society and always in foremost ranks of the workers for the good of the church and community.

He obtained his education in a country school and was for some time a student at Iowa State College. He was always deeply interested in literary work.

With his sisters and widowed mother he moved to Gilbert, where for nearly twelve years he was connected with the hardware business.

On March 18, 1902, he was united in marriage to Dora Madden.

He leaves a wife and two sisters to mourn his death.
